Eco-Spirituality: Liberating Creation
With Laura Alexander
June 28 - 30, 2024
In Genesis, God calls creation “good” six times before humans are even created. In a season when that good creation is damaged and crying out, often contributing to the suffering of the poor and the oppressed, we gather for a retreat exploring the ecological crisis through the lens of scripture and theology.
From the retreat center’s farm, forest, and riverbanks, we’ll draw from scripture, poetry, and the Book of Common Prayer’s Baptismal Covenant to ponder the cosmic scope of God’s salvation in Jesus and how we can extend our Creator’s liberating, redemptive activity to the natural world. Come share your eco-spiritualty stories.
Led by the Rev. Dr. Mark Francisco Bozzuti-Jones, Priest and Director for Spiritual Formation at Trinity Retreat Center, and Laura Alexander, the retreat center’s farm manager. Laura oversees the flower gardens, farm-to-table produce, and care of the rescue animals.
