To be the Body of Christ is to be part of spiritual community that is concerned with mind, body, and soul. Over the course of this retreat, we will reflect on how congregations, small groups, and other communities create and sustain deep belonging using movement for spiritual health. Author Tricia Hersey writes that the body is a site of liberation and is deserving of love, rest, and movement and tending to these needs is part of radical community care. Using ancient and contemporary texts for reflection and the beautiful landscape of Trinity Retreat Center as the setting for movement, participants are invited to bring their whole selves to this retreat. Note: participants will be invited to engage the kind of movement that is best for them. Options will include seated stretches, short walks, and slow runs at conversational pace. All bodies are welcome.
