God and the Cosmos

Spend the weekend of the Perseids Meteor Shower watching the ocean of stars above West Cornwall and exploring time, space, and the universe through the dual lenses of science and the Abrahamic faiths of Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Astronomers will lead a star-watching party. The weekend also features music, art, lectures, and contemplative prayer exploring how we can ponder our cosmic dance with the Divine, not only in the skies above but also in our neighborhoods.
Led by Joseph Rose, an Episcopal seminarian at Yale Divinity School and Executive Director of Visitor Experience at Trinity Retreat Center. Featuring Summerlee Staten, Trinity Church Wall Street’s Deputy Executive Director of Faith Formation & Education.
This retreat is suitable for individuals and families, including children of all ages.
Note: Out of an abundance of caution as we emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic, retreats will be limited to 25 people. More spaces may open up as public health guidelines allow.
About the Leaders
Joseph Rose
Joseph Rose is executive director of visitor experience at Trinity Retreat Center, a leader in the Episcopal Church's alternative liturgy movement, and an Episcopal seminarian at Yale Divinity School studying to be a priest. A native of the Pacific Northwest, he is a former award-winning journalist with Wired magazine and The Oregonian in Portland, Oregon.

Summerlee Staten is Executive Director of Faith Formation & Education at Trinity Church Wall Street. Summerlee has a Master of Divinity Degree from PrincetonTheological Seminary and a Master of Sacred Theology Degree from Yale Divinity School, where she focused on Biblical studies and Faith Formation and Education in church communities.
