Inclusiveness Retreat: Womanist Midrash with Wil Gafney

“How do we interpret scripture in the world we inhabit in ways that honor our histories and heritages and, speak to the present moment and its concerns?  How do biblical stories speak to us today? Please join the Rev. Dr. Wil Gafney, the Rt. Rev. Sam B. Hulsey Professor of Hebrew Bible at Brite Divinity School in Ft. Worth, TX, and a noted scholar, pastor, preacher, and activist, for a Core Values Inclusiveness Retreat on March 25-27, 2022.

Rev. Dr. Gafney will speak about her wonderful book, Womanist Midrash: A Reintroduction to the Women of the Torah and The Throne, and her groundbreaking Women’s Lectionary for the Whole Church helping us to explore the stories of women in the Hebrew Bible in particular and, biblical interpretation in general. This will be an exciting retreat for participants to dig into scripture in a deeper way, and to ask how God might be speaking to us afresh in a beautiful winter setting. Come for conversations by the fire, dynamic teaching, and vibrant conversations.”
