Illuminated Manuscript Workshop: Golden Age of Ireland (Online)

Learn the history and prayerful practice of manuscript production in Ireland at the time of the Book of Kells from the 6th century to the 8th century with master iconographer Susan Kelly vonMedicus.  Insular script calligraphy from the Books of the Golden Age of Ireland will be taught along with the decorative presentation of the Gospels and Psalms, including illumination with paint where colors make the words come alive.  No experience is necessary for this workshop. Please provide your physical address at registration so that a package of materials and tools can be sent to you. This Virtual Workshop will be offered via Zoom. The Zoom link will be sent to participants two weeks prior to the retreat.
