Water Ways, Spirit Ways

No matter who we are or where we live, our lives depend on bodies of water. In this retreat we’ll draw from scripture, from science, and from the waters of the Housatonic River for spiritual growth. In the Bible, the sea is both the site of chaos and the womb of creation; we’ll spend some time exploring biblical passages about water in light of process theology, one of the most challenging and interesting turns in contemporary theological thought. We’ll learn about the waterways of the Eastern Seaboard of the United States and the hidden connections that link cities to wilderness and tie our wellbeing to that of all life in this region. Finally, we’ll spend some time becoming intimate with the Housatonic River, in partnership with a local canoe and rafting outfitter. We’ll learn the secrets of “reading” water and spend some time paddling one of the loveliest rivers on the East Coast.

Double room (Twin beds) with private bath: $220 per person/$440 total

ADA Compliant and Triple rooms may be available upon request.

All meals are included.
