“Stories have to be told or they die,
and when they die, we can’t remember
who we are or why we’re here.
                                            — Sue Monk Kidd

All of us have myriad stories to tell. Some involve our family history, spiritual journey, experiences in nature, or a life-changing situation. Stories can take many forms, but the most compelling are the ones written from the heart, those that move us and sometimes transform both the writer and reader.  The retreat will afford the opportunity and quiet environment to work on a current writing project, begin stories long thought about, or immerse oneself in silence to find what needs to be voiced.

Led by Anne A. Simpkinson, an award-winning journalist, editor, and story midwife. She and her husband, Chuck, founded Common Boundary, a nonprofit organization that explores the relationship among psychotherapy, spirituality, and creativity. She also served as Communications Director for Mercy by the Sea Retreat and Conference Center in Connecticut.
